Frequently Asked Questions

Can I edit the existing text inside the PDF?

Not with this tool — it adds new marks on top of the page rather than rewriting the original text. To change existing wording, convert the file with our PDF to Word tool, edit it there, and export back to PDF.

Will my annotations be visible in other PDF readers?

Yes. Marks are flattened directly into the page image rather than stored as comment objects, so they appear identically in Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, and on print — and cannot be accidentally deleted by a reader.

Can I annotate on a phone or tablet?

Yes. The drawing surface supports touch and stylus input, so you can mark up with a finger or an Apple Pencil the same way you would with a mouse.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. This tool runs entirely inside your browser using WebAssembly — your file is never uploaded, never stored on a server, and never seen by us. You can confirm it by opening your browser's Network tab while the tool runs, or by disconnecting from the internet after the page loads: it still works.
